Why Does Pile Shedding Occur in Carpets Made from Natural Materials?

Natural fibers like viscose, wool, and silk are short and vary in length. During yarn production, these fibers are twisted together, but shorter fibers that can't be twisted fall off the rug in the first few months. This process, known as pile shedding, is normal for natural rugs. About 3-4% of fibers are short, and regular vacuuming will reduce shedding over time.
